bulthaup veneers: individual masterpieces with unmistakable quality
Each bulthaup veneer front is processed from a single tree trunk and becomes a unique work of art in the hands of a bulthaup veneer master craftsman. Only veneers that meet bulthaup's high quality standards are selected − we have different standards for every type of wood and we do not use timber from tropical rain forests, only those from the finest American and European timbers. Our craftsman, with their years of experience and passion for working with wood, select veneers that meet our high standards by looking for our ideal features in the veneer's color and grain. Depending on the wood selected and what works best for that particular grain pattern, the veneers are either arranged consecutively (beech, cherry, maple and Swiss pear) or "book matched" (oak, larch, walnut, elm and apple). Similar to the pages of a book, book matching veneer sheets involves alternating or turning over every other sheet resulting in a refined, symmetrical appearance. Additionally, a unique feature of bulthaup b3 is its ability to provide horizontal veneers. bulthaup veneers are finished using stains and varnishes which enhance the natural look of the wood and add protection against UV damage. Throughout the whole process, the veneer is checked for quality, consistency and elegance. The final product truly demonstrates bulthaup's commitment to excellence.
