Right in the heart of the historic Marais district and close to the Pompidou Center stands the old building from the 18th century that serves as a photographic studio and home for two artists.

 

The situation before the new plans:

This project involves a complete redesign of a former restaurant with an unusual floor plan. On the first floor is an approximately 12-meter-long, narrow room which is to be used as an office and studio. On the second floor is a kitchen with a classical, rectangular shape covering some 12 square meters, and next to it is a living room. Unusually high rooms in which the bulthaup multi-functional wall is to be designed to ceiling height in the form of a panel wall.

 

For the kitchen, a recess was provided in which the kitchen elements from the bulthaup system b3 were to be integrated with a perfect fit. Answering the need for storage and functionality, the line was to be floor-standing, sleek and designed with unobtrusive materials. The ensemble is complemented with a floating sideboard on which a bar corner element is located. This element can be used for eating at, but also for preparing food. For this reason, it is made from stainless steel. On the narrow side are "floating" appliance elements complete with oven and steam oven.

 

In the adjacent living room, which houses the eating area, the panel wall can truly demonstrate its universal versatility and changeability. With a panel wall like this, any room - as the pictures on the following pages show - can be enhanced and used in the most eye-catching way.

 

The studio on the first floor is designed with a large panel wall made from natural oak. This wall is supported by the bulthaup multi-functional wall. Panels up to 200 cm wide and accentuation of the horizontal lines create a particularly spacious effect in the room. Also attached to this is the long, wall-hanging bench, which is made from natural oak too. The installation is enhanced by the bulthaup c3 table and several CH20 Wegner chairs.

 

Visible in the background is the cooking area from the bulthaup system 20 range. It has been positioned here so that the artists can also cook in the studio room.
